An Exhibition of new works by

Sarah Lucy Baker

Exhibition runs from 16th May to 13th June
A recent graduate from the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, Sarah is a freelance Scenic Artist, specialising in painting scenery for Theatre. She has worked both for large scale venues and studio theatres (such as the National Theatre Studio and the studio at the Battersea Arts Centre). She has been part of teams painting a cloth for York Theatre Royal and set for English National Opera in the role of freelance assistant. Sarah has also painted shows for the Royal Shakespeare Company after winning a place on their placement scheme back in 2008.

Originally from Devon, Sarah is returning to develop her Fine Art practice. Revisiting the countryside, she uses childhood haunts as a stimulus to create works which inspire a sense of drama and create a sense of magic for the viewer.

Sarah works primarily in mixed media, utilising the skills and industry products she has encountered as a freelance Scenic Artist to create a heightened sense of atmosphere and add an extra tactile dimension to her work.
